Endometriosis and pelvic inflammatory diseases are some of the leading causes for female infertility, however these infection are mainly caused by troubles due to surgeries or medications. Certain surgeries may lead to the disruption of cervix whilst DES exposure can affect all women, even if they were still a fetus themselves when exposed.
PID (Pelvic Inflammatory Disease) is one of the most common causes for female infertility. These internal infections are caused by bacteria penetrating into the reproductive organs of female including those surrounding the pelvic. This causes the area to become aggravated and can also radiate into the adjacent intestines.
Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome is characterized by the over-production of androgens in the female’s system which ultimately decreases the release of hormones like Follicle Stimulating Hormone and Luteinizing Hormone which will eventually stop the production of mature eggs.

In-vitro fertilization is an invasive medical procedure, especially at the later stages, and as any other medical procedure it has its ups and downs. Some of the cons includes that it has n high multiple birth rate due to the fact that numerous fertilized eggs are implanted into the woman’s womb to increase the possibility of implantation. Over the years the procedure has enjoyed a high success rate, however not all couples experience this happiness. The cons of the procedure include the disappointment experienced by the couple when the procedure proved to be unsuccessful. The other con which in some cases can be seen as a pro is the possibility of multiple births. Most couples know the risk of multiple births and are content with the possibility of twins or even triplets, but when the woman falls pregnant with more than three babies the risk of death or disability from the baby and mother increases dramatically. Another risk is ovarian hyper-stimulation syndrome which in severe cases can cause ovarian rapture. To find out more about all the in-vitro fertilization pros and cons or to be educated in alternative infertility treatments contact us at Pregassist.

Fertility and conception go hand in hand. The best time for you to get pregnant is during your ovulation, which is on average approximately 9 days of your menstrual cycle. Actual fertilization occurs when the sperm then penetrates the egg that has been lodged in the woman’s fallopian tubes. The fertilized egg then travels all the way up to your uterus and implants itself in the uterine lining. At this point the egg and the developing placenta start releasing hCG which will then help facilitate the production of progesterone. This is essential for a fertile and hospitable environment for the implanted egg. Fertility conception has been reached once the egg is in this position.
The process of fertility conception can be a complicated process, anything can go wrong at any one of those stages, and so for more information on how to get pregnant or when you notice you might be having problems, contact us at Pregassist for experienced advice.
