Who would have thought that the amazing soy product could be anything but good for your health. Overdoing it however, seems to be a big problem when it comes to male fertility. A recent study published in the Human Reproduction Journal (2008) indicated that men consuming soy may have a lower sperm count! The study concluded that the men with highest intake of soy had the lowest sperm count. Apparently soy contains phytoestrogen which is a plant soy that can have adverse affects on the sperm count. The worrisome part is that many foods contain it including pizzas. How to ensure that you don’t overdo it? Eat a healthy balanced meal three or more times a day – and go with fresh produce rather than pre-cooked or packaged foods.
