Just as with male fertility, female fertility declines as women reach a certain age. Researchers have confirmed that female fertility is reduced during the middle thirties. Now, studies also show that regardless of the age of their partner, even if the man is younger, if the woman is over the age of 34 there will be a higher risk of miscarriage. Miscarriage rates are known to be near 40% between the ages of mid-twenties to mid-forties. It has also been shown that the chance of the newborn baby being born with Downs syndrome is significantly higher for females nearer to their forties. For example, women who wait until their mid-thirties risk the chance of their newborn baby being 1 in 400 that are born with the disease. Although the ratio may not seem that high, it is simply not worth the risk of Down syndrome. The biological clock is ticking, but if you have waited until after 34, all is not lost. With excellent medical care and adequate nutrition as well as the correct supplements your chances of successful pregnancy increase.

Although not something we would like to admit in modern society, the facts show that sperm count has dropped in general over the years, especially over the last fifty or so years. Studies since 1938 indicate that the mean sperm density of men have declined significantly from 1940 to 1990. A total of 20% decline- should spell danger. There may be numerous causes such as an increase of free radicals, stress build-up, poor diets, no exercise, alcohol and smoking, poor sleeping patterns, and deficiencies in essential minerals and vitamins. It calls for life style changes, but also supplementing with well balanced products to fight low sperm count. The combination of factors that influence sperm count must be addressed starting with lifestyle changes and diet. We have developed a well-balanced supplement for men to help improve sperm count and overall male fertility and health.

What is the importance of selenium for male fertility? Selenium prevents oxidation of the sperm cell. It thus also plays the role of an anti-oxidant and such we include selenium for male fertility as well as Vitamins C and E in our Pregassist formula for men. Harmful in large dosages, the mineral should be taken with care and as such the correct amount should be included in any male fertility product. The exact amount required is included in our formula for best and safe working. Deficiencies in selenium have been linked to poor sperm motility. It also helps to prevent sperm clumping. The combination of selenium, Vitamins C and E is thus essential to improve male fertility by addressing motility, clumping, free radicals, and membrane quality.

Although most people think of Vitamin E as great for skin improvement and repairs of scars, Vitamin E for male fertility should not be ignored. Studies have shown that Vitamin E can improve the body’s ability to produce sperm. When combined with Vitamin C you will have a powerful anti-oxidant combination. This is important since free radicals in the body may reduce male fertility. Vitamin E and C can fight the effects of free radicals in the body and thus improve male fertility naturally. Vitamin E provides the protection of sperm membranes required and is essential in sperm production. As such the lack of Vitamin E will severely influence male fertility. It is for the reasons mentioned that we include Vitamin E for male fertility in our Pregassist formula for men.

Not only the quantity, but also the quality and motility of sperm as part of sperm production should be considered to evaluate fertility. Men with lower than 20 million per ml of semen produced are severely at risk of low fertility. It however, is not the end of the world, since some men still succeed with conception even with low sperm production. Another factor – that of how well the sperm can swim towards the egg and manage to penetrate it should also be taken into consideration. This is known as motility. The quality is thus just as important as quantity in sperm production.
Factors that will lead to lower and poorer quality sperm production include:
• Excessive smoking.
• Too frequent sexual activity. Ejaculation of two to three times a day may lead to problems with fertility.
• Infections.
• Stress and overworking.
• Excessive intake of alcohol.
The PregAssist product for men includes vital ingredients to improve quality and quantity of sperm production to ensure a higher level of fertility.
