Trying to conceive

Thursday, January 7th, 2010

Conceiving and getting pregnant is not as easy as many couples would like to think, and for women over the age of 35, it becomes even harder. Add to that tubal infections, a low sperm count and endometrios as well as  excessive consumption of alcohol and drugs and your chances of fertility are greatly reduced.

Ovulation is a pre-requisite for trying to conceive, but with women battling with irregular menstrual cycles, their chances are minimised.Though a number of factors can be responsible, many doctors  believe that lifestyle changes and diet are key to success.

Standard fertility treatments can usually help and some couples desperately resort to more serious medical treatments in trying to conceive, but there are also other more natural options that couples can try on their own.The experts at Pregassit can advise you on their wonderful products that are well worth trying.

Mucus changes and fertility

Monday, June 1st, 2009

The mucus in the female cervix undergoes constant changes. This is a reaction to hormonal changes in the body. You will notice that more mucus is discharged during a specific period of the menstrual cycle. Just after menstruation the mucus will dry up and this will be indicative of the infertility period. As the mucus changes in color and quantity fertility increases again until it becomes stretchy and almost see-through just before ovulation takes place. This is the peak fertility time. Just after ovulation the mucus changes gradually to become thicker. This is still a fertility period which will last for about two to three days although it is not the peak fertility period.

Vitamin B6 for fertility

Saturday, May 30th, 2009

We include Vitamin B6 for fertility in our PregAssist for Women fertility supplement for a number of reasons. It helps to reduce the chances of luteal phase defect and also plays an important role in reducing PMS symptoms. The luteal phase defect is a condition where the time between ovulation and menstruation is too short. It will occur when the time is less than ten days. The perfect time frame is 11-16 days between ovulation and menstruation. Vitamin B6 for fertility helps to lengthen the period between ovulation and menstruation and thus counters the luteal phase defect. You can also add Vitamin B6 for fertility to your diet through the intake of fish, whole grains, yoghurt, liver, cereals, and eggs.
