New studies show common chemicals could affect fertility

In relation to a new study, perfluorinated chemicals, known as PFC’s, which can be found in the household, attire, as well as food packaging could have the potential of reducing fertility. Studies indicate that the higher amount of PFC’s found within a woman’s blood, the more likely it could take a year or longer to conceive. In one particular study, blood samples were taken from over 1200 women within their first trimester so that the PFC concentration could be properly measured. The women were then asked the length of time it took for them to conceive. The majority of respondents answered 12 months or more, while some needed treatment in order to conceive. Although there is no solid evidence of these chemicals causing the lower fertility count the manufacturers of the mentioned chemicals are providing their help in any way possible to further the study.
